John: We have discussed this, and it's not outside the realm of possibility. If I were to write about AppleScript Studio in the Take Control series, though, it would most likely be a joint effort with Matt Neuburg, whose AppleScript kung fu is far better than mine.

The biggest problem is slicing up the material in small enough chunks that can stand on their own happily. The book I was working on would have been at least 400 pages long, and could have been much longer. We really prefer for Take Control books to be more like 50! I think that if Matt and I could come up with a way to say only the most important things about the topic in, perhaps, three 50-ish-page ebooks, that could possibly work. But it's also possible another publisher will pick up the book, or that the universe is trying to tell me the project just needs to die.

This is everybody's loss. I wonder if it would be practical to do a shorter version of the proposed AppleScript Studio book as part of the Take Control series?
